PicoHD5.1 is fully capable of DTS and Dolby AC3 bitstream output through its coaxial audio plug. All you have to do is to connect the supplied minijack-to-RCA cable on the back of the device and feed the coaxial input of your multichannel system through the white RCA plug. Then, head to the audio settings of the PicoHD5.1 and select the appropriate output method (see instruction manual for further details).

There is a chance you are outside the remote’s reception range. Please check that your remote is 3 to 5 meters away from the PicoHD with a horizontal or vertical offset of no more than 15 degrees.
Yes you can, but in order to do so you must set the PicoHD5.1 to output stereo audio through its HDMI-out and then, use a standard RCA audio cable from your TV's audio-out to your AV Receiver.
