Senior Wireless Headphones Engineer / Shenzhen

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our ODM partners in Shenzhen to oversee the development, testing, and validation of Active Noise Cancelling and Low Latency Gaming headphones

  • Perform and oversee acoustic measurements of components, subsystems, and final assemblies and perform a thorough analysis of results

  • Assess, Qualify, Develop, and manage Suppliers and Supplier Manufacturing Processes.

  • Work with external partners to evaluate and improve their acoustic test and analysis capabilities

  • Travel to support suppliers, primarily in the southeast China region.

  • Work with Development and Production Engineers to manage and develop the Test Plans, track deliverables and communicate test progress to the product team.

  • Provide engineering support to external Contract Manufacturers and ensure that they meet Crystal Audio guidelines.

  • Create Work Instructions

  • Follow the product Verification process.

  • Keep all Test equipment and software setup updated and verified.

  • Ensure the Production team follows all internal Test procedures and all Test Metrics are under target.

  • Perform initial problem determination and diagnosis when issues arise, and track defects against those problems

  • Supports audio system design, conducts audio performance evaluation and tuning of our models

  • Conduct component-level acoustic evaluation as needed.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing high-performance wireless headphones

  • Degree in Acoustical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent (M.S. preferred)

  • Proficient in acoustic test equipment from B&K, GRAS, Audio Precision, National Instruments, Listen Inc. (SoundCheck), and others.

  • Experience developing products with Bluetooth and/or other wireless technologies

  • Perform driver and system testing to characterize and document transducer performance, including power handling, impedance, transfer function, and frequency/polar response in 360 degrees.

  • Perform and oversee acoustic measurements of components, subsystems, and final assemblies and perform a thorough analysis of results

  • Work with Development and Production Engineers to manage and develop the Test Plans, track deliverables and communicate test progress to the product team.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize research, aesthetic trends, and production processes to generate new concepts that possess the visual brand character and user experience of our products.
