WiSound App is your single remote control that allows you to control what you're listening to, on any connectedWiSound device and from any source. You can even control the volume simultaneously in each group of speakers you have formed, (e.g. one for each room)! -
Can I use more than one WiSound Wireless Multiroom Devices in the house?
Yes!
That’s what the whole Wireless Multiroom concept is about! You can have a Widaptor attached to your Hi-Fi system in the living room. And later you can place a WiSound Wireless Multiroom speaker in the bedroom, another in your kid’s room, a third one in the kitchen and so on. With the WiSound app you choose where you want the music to play! -
Can I use WiDaptor with my old boombox or speaker-dock?

Can I use WiDaptor with my HiFi amplifier and speakers?
Yes! Of course!
WiDaptor is designed to work with your Hi-Fi system! WiDaptor comes with an analogue input and a minijack to minijack stereo cable to connect it to your Hi-Fi system or your active (powered) speakers. -
Can I use WiDaptor with my individual passive speakers?
No.
WiDaptor does not connect to your passive (un-powered) loudspeaker boxes directly, it's always requires anamplifier or powered speakers. -

What is the Redirect Feature?

Why ‘Teevy’ have 2x sets of IR receivers and LEDs (one on front and one on top)?
Horizontal & Vertical placement
This is because the Teevy series products can be placed also on the wall vertically. When placed on a table, the FRONT panel IR&LEDS are enabled. When placed vertically on the wall, the TOP panel IR&LEDS are enabled.

Yes.
WiSound Wireless Multiroom Devices are compatible with all 2.4GHz band routers and chances are very big your router is a 2.4GHz one

There is no Wi-Fi router in my house, do I need to buy one?
No.
Absolutely not. All WiSound Wireless Multiroom Devices integrate a Wi-Fi router where you can connect your phone/tablet. And if you don’t desire Multiroom, there is always the Bluetooth option, which does not require a network at all. (Except Widaptor which does not support bluetooth)

How many WiSound Wireless Multiroom Devices can be connected in my home network?
In theory there is no limit.
As many as your router allows! In theory there is no limit to the number of WiSound Wireless Multiroom Devices that can be connected in one network, but the more devices the stronger (in terms of processing power) the router must be, to efficiently handle all these devices.

How many users can be connected to a WiSound Wireless Multiroom Device at the same time?
In theory there is no limit.
WiSound Wireless Multiroom is an open system, available to anyone within the same WiFi network. Anyone can play their tunes using the WiSound app, AirPlay or any other UPnP/DLNA app.

Does WiSound app work with my Phone or Tablet?
Yes, on Android and iOS!

Via Wi-Fi
WiSound Wireless Multiroom Devices use your wireless network to connect. If there is no wireless network in your house, WiSound Wireless Multiroom Devices automatically create one.

Does WiSound app stream music to my speakers?
Yes.
Using Wi-Fi the music is streamed from your own music library spread all over your home network, (your laptop, a NAS, your USB disk, etc), or any supported cloud based music service to the WiSound Wireless Multiroom Device.

Do I need an internet connection to listen to music with WiSound Devices?
No.
No, unless you want to listen to internet music services. To listen to music available on your local devices (smartphone, tablet, USB disk, PC, etc) all you need is a smartphone or a tablet. The rest is taken care by the WiSound Device.

Can I play the speaker without having to download the App first?
Yes. No problem.
The App is required only for use of the speaker with Wi-Fi. You can fully operate the speaker without App, for Bluetooth, Optical and Analog sources.

I’ve Run the App and it says ‘no Speaker found’…..
This is absolutely normal.
When you run the App for the first time the speakers are not connected to your network. To connect the speakers to your network, simply press Add Device on the App and follow the steps appearing on the App.

If I buy more speakers, how do I add them?
It's very simple.
If you have already one speaker and want to add another, simply press the + on the top right of the Device List.

Ηow long does it take to search for a speaker through the WPS button process?
Not much...
Searching process with WPS button normally takes less than 1 minute.

Τhe steps with the WPS buttons did not work.
There is an alternative way.
Depending on your Wi-Fi router, there are rare occasions that the network configuration process with WPS button does not work.
As advised by the App:
1. Connect your phone directly to the speaker's Wi-Fi
2. Fill in the App, the password of your Wi-Fi router
3. Select from within the App your Wi-Fi router -
Do I have to give a different name to each speaker?
It's good.
You are advised to name each speaker differently. This way you will be able to identify very easily which speaker you are controlling through the App.

I’ve set the speaker’s name. Will I be able to rename it afterwards?
Yes. No problem.
You can rename any speaker any time, from within the App. Simply select settings (the cog wheel icon) and press ‘Rename’.

How do I know that WPS was successfully pressed?
There is a voice prompt
When you are setting up a speaker on Wi-Fi and you press the WPS button, you will hear a voice prompt saying: "Wi-Fi searching". If you don't hear this prompt then you may need to press the WPS button once more.

Shall I repeat the installation procedure with every phone/tablet?
No, this is not necessary.
You only need to set up each speaker once. You can use the system through many phone/tablets (even simultaneously), just by installing the WiSound application to your phone/tablet.

Shall I use the digital or analogue connection to my TV?
No, this is not necessary.
If you have both Analogue and Optical options for the TV connection, we recommend you use the Optical interface. This is because the sound quality of Optical interface is better, giving better sound quality with less noise.

I've got a really old TV set and want to use a Wisound speaker. Is this possible?
Not at all.
Even if you TV set is very old (without optical out) you still can use it without any problem. Chances are that your TV is equipped with SCART connector on the back. In such a case, all you need is a SCART to RCA cable or adaptor.

How do I know that the speaker is in Wi-Fi mode?
You should see Orange.
The LED indicator needs to be Orange. If not, press the INPUT button until the LED turns Orange.

I want to use speaker in a place without a Wi-Fi router.
No Problem.
Each speaker has a built in Wi-Fi router function. You can connect to the speaker's Wi-Fi network and use Wisound1234 as a password. -
What difference does it make if a Wi-Fi router is 2.4GHz or 2.4GHz & 5GHz?
Just ignore 5GHz interface.
The new Wi-Fi routers tend to be dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz). Since speakers are 2.4GHz, you need to connect your Smartphone or Tablet through 2.4GHz interface of the router.

I have a Wi-Fi router but there is no access to the internet.
No Problem.
Internet access is not a must have for the speakers to work. It is only required to access the various music streaming services.

I am experiencing drop-outs during playback
Bring them closer...
Maybe your Wi-Fi Router has very weak signal or your speaker is placed too far away from your Wi-Fi router. Try moving speaker closer to the Wi-Fi router.

After the 1st installation of speakers do I have to do something when I turn on the speakers?
No. Not at all.
Once you have successfully installed your speakers to your Wi-Fi, you need not to do anything else regarding Wi-Fi settings. Each time you turn ON the speaker, it will automatically connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Can I disable the Wi-Fi password of the speakers?
Possible but not recommended.
Yes you can, but this is not recommended. If you disable the password from your speakers and your speakers are connected to your Wi-Fi network, it's like giving access to your network to anyone. This is because each Wi-Fi speaker can act like a Wi-Fi router itself.

What will be the benefit of using a separate Wi-Fi router just for the audio playback.
Your system will be more stable.
Using a separate, dedicated router for your wireless speakers will make the whole system much more stable. Like this, your music streaming to speakers is not influenced by your web activities (web browsing, torrent downloading, etc…)

Is each speaker a Wi-Fi repeater as well?
Yes, each speaker acts like a Wi-Fi router itself.
Once properly connected and installed, it can give access to your network through its Wi-Fi interface. Like this, if there are areas in your home with no /low Wi-Fi signal but you have a speaker in the middle, simply connect your PC/phone/tablet to speaker's Wi-Fi. You will have access to the web, without any problem, because the speaker is closer to you and thus you get stronger Wi-Fi signal.

I need to place my speaker in a room with poor Wi-Fi reception. Is there something I can do?
Sure.
You need to use a Wi-Fi access point configured as a Repeater. The perfect place to install this access point is in the middle of the path between Wi-Fi router and speaker.

If I connect my phone to a specific speaker will I be able to access all my speakers?
You can see some.
Since you are connected to a specific speaker, you can only see the particular speaker and any other speakers connected to it as Slaves. -
I want to enjoy the various streaming services while on the go. Is this possible?
Of course.
If you have 3G/4G connection, simply use the relevant streaming applications and connect your Smartphone / Tablet to your speaker through Bluetooth. Note: in case of IOS device you can also use Airplay as an alternative way.

There is an analogue source connected to the RCA inputs but I hear no sound.
This is normal
The 3.5mm Analogue input takes priority over the RCA input. This means that if you have a source connected to 3.5mm input, the RCA input will be ignored. Simply unplug the cable connected to the 3.5mm input.

I have connected an analogue source to the speaker but it plays very quietly.
This can happen even though the speaker's volume is set to maximum.
This is because the volume on your analogue source is independent. Please make sure that the volume control of your analogue source has been set to maximum. If this is set to maximum, but the volume is still low, then maybe the analogue output of your source is very low. In such a case you will need to use a preamplifier.

What sources can I connect to the Analogue input?
Whatever you want.
You can connect any source with an analogue output, like: Cell Phone, Smartphone, Tablet, MP3 player, PC, CD, TV, DVD, Turntable through phono stage, etc…

Shall I use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
It's better to go with Wi-Fi.
You should preferably use Wi-Fi, since with Wi-Fi there is no compression involved, making the sound more natural and dynamic.

Bluetooth audio quality is not good enough for me. Why is that?
Because there is compression involved.
The standard compression for Bluetooth is SBC, which lacks transparency in the high frequencies. If you use a Bluetooth source with Apt-x codec support, then the results will be better. Of course, you will still get the best performance through Wi-Fi.

If Wi-Fi has better sound, why should I ever use Bluetooth?
With Bluetooth you play whatever you want.
Bluetooth has the advantage that it acts like a virtual sound card for your tablet / Smartphone or PC. This means that, whatever streaming service or internet radio station you listen to on your device, it will be transmitted faultlessly to the speaker without you having to worry if your streaming service of choice is currently supported by the speaker or not.

How do I listen wirelessly to youtube or an online radio station?
Through Bluetooth
Simply pair your device with the speaker through Bluetooth. -
I play Bluetooth but it does not play loud.
Τhis can happen.
Firstly, verify that the volume is set to maximum on the speaker. You will then need to turn up the volume on the Smartphone / Tablet. These two volume controls are independent, so you need to control both of them.

How do I select and play songs through Bluetooth?
From the default music player.
In order to play songs through Bluetooth, you need to use the default music play of your tablet/Smartphone.

The speaker is on but I cannot find it under Bluetooth devices.
Select Bluetooth Input.
Only when the BT input on the speaker is selected you are able to see the speaker listed under Bluetooth devices on your Smartphone / Tablet. If an input other than Bluetooth is selected (AUX / Optical / Wi-Fi), then the Bluetooth interface is deactivated.

I am experiencing audio drop-outs and Bluetooth disconnections. Is there something I can do?
Bring source and speaker closer
Bluetooth has a maximum operational distance of about 10 meters. It is also very sensitive to obstacles between your Smartphone / tablet and speaker. If you are experiencing audio drop-outs, it is recommended to either move closer to the speaker or use the speaker with Wi-Fi.

Is there any way to jump to the next/previous song, but not from within the App?
Yes
Υou can jump to previous / next song any time you wish, just by pressing the relevant buttons on the device or on the remote.

What is the difference between long press and short press on the speaker’s buttons?
Different function
Each button serves a different function, depending on if it is pressed short or long. A short press is pressing briefly once. A long press is pressing and keeping it pressed for more than 2 seconds.

Even though I try to increase the volume, speaker does not go any louder. Is this normal?
Absolutely
All speakers are equipped with audio limiters, so that you can play loud without going over the safe level.

I’m getting audio output from my TV and from the speaker at the same time. Is this correct?
Absolutely
To obtain maximum audio performance you are strongly advised to disable the TV's own speaker and let only the Wisound speaker play. Please refer to your TV's menu for a selection of Audio Output Setting and set it to Optical. Alternatively, you can find an option to disable TV's speaker.

I play something and my friend wants to play something else. Do I need to close the App?
No, not needed.
The App can operate with many smart phones/tablets in parallel. This means that if you have selected a song, at any time, your friend can select another song from another smartphone/tablet. Your song will stop and your friend's song will start.

Do I need a tablet/smartphone to play music through Analogue/Optical or Bluetooth?
No, not at all.
You can select the relevant input and adjust volume from speaker's buttons or remote control without making use of your tablet/smartphone

I want to play the left channel to some of my speakers and the right channel to other speakers.
Select from the App either L or R.
When you are in the Device List inside the App, there is a ‘LR’ symbol on the bottom right. Pressing on that symbol, it cycles: LR-->L-->R, so that you can choose that specific speaker to play both left and right, only Left, or only the right channel.

How do I control the volume of all the speakers simultaneously?
Use your phone's / tablet's speakerer volume buttons
By using your phone's volume buttons, you can control the volume of all the speakers simultaneously.

How do I Play or Pause the music to all the speakers?
Use Play All / Pause All
On the bottom of the Device List, there is a button Play All / Pause All. Each time you press it, you play or pause the music to all the speakers of the system.

Can a Slave speaker play different music from Master?
This is not possible
The purpose of defining one speaker as ‘Master’ and some as ‘Slaves’ is to make a group that will play the same music.

My speaker asks me to update it's firmware.
Just confirm the relevant question.
Having your speaker updated is recommended, since new features and improvements are added in each new release of the firmware.

What is the difference between the App and the Firmware?
One is on the phone / tablet and one is on the speaker
The App is the software that runs on your tablet or Smartphone, while the Firmware is the software that runs on the speaker.

What is the LEARN function about?
Control the speaker's volume
Learn function is designed to teach your speaker to respond to Volume UP/DOWN commands of your TV's remote. Follow the steps described in the quick guide.

I have performed the LEARN function many times but my TV's control does not change speakers volume.
Control the speaker's volume
There are rare occasions that one TV uses some proprietary protocol for the Remote Control commands. In such cases, the LEARN function will not work. -
Can I use my TV-connected speaker with only the TV's remote?
Yes, you can.
Making use of the LEARN function, you can use TV's remote to increase/decrease the volume. For the speaker to turn on, nothing is required. Simply turn on your TV and the speaker will sense the TV's audio and start playback. Likewise, if you turn off your TV, the speaker will also turn off after about 30min. -
How do I learn the volume codes from TV's remote to speaker's remote?
You don't.
You teach the speaker itself to obey the commands of your TV's remote. -
Is the LEARN function supported only for the Teevy series?
Νο.
The LEARN function is supported by both Teevy and Cuby series.

I used SEARCH and found songs that are not from my own collection. Where are these songs located?
In a remote music server
The search results come from a big music server. You can access your favorite songs and artists very easily.

I want to stream music from Spotify with the free version of Spotify. Is this possible?
Yes, of course.
Τhat's what Bluetooth is for. Simply use the Spotify App on your device and pair your smartphone or tablet to the speaker via Bluetooth.

I have Spotify Premium and want to use it but I don't see Spotify icon inside the App.
No need.
You need to run the Spotify App, select your favorite music and then press on the Spotify Connect icon. Spotify Premium is supported by the native Spotify App. You will then find the list of available speakers to play music to.

I have songs in the cloud (iCloud, Google Drive, etc…) but I cannot make them play through the App.
Use either Airplay or DLNA
For IOS devices, you always have the option of Airplay. For Android devices you will need to play through either Bluetooth or a 3rd party App (like Bubble UPNP, etc…)

How can I know the details of the speaker I am currently connected to?
Press the settings button
By firstly selecting settings (cog wheel) and then pressing on Speaker Info. From here you can see Device Name, SSID, Firmware release version/date, change of language prompts, etc...

If I unplug the speaker from power, do I need to configure the network again?
No need.
No need. The speaker needs to be configured only once. Once properly configured, the speaker will try to connect to the last configured Wi-Fi router.

I have reset speaker back to factory defaults and speaker does not connect to my Wi-Fi router.
This is normal
You need to run again the network configuration process with WPS button. This is absolutely normal, since the speaker does not know to which Wi-Fi router to connect to. -
My system used to work fine, but now speaker refuses to connect.
Don't worry
If you experience network instabilities, it is recommended to restart both your Wi-Fi router and your speaker. -
I am experiencing a sluggish behavior and I've got frequent music drop-outs.
Don't worry
It is recommended to change the Frequency channel of your Wi-Fi router. Please consult your Wi-Fi router user’s manual. The router will restart in another Wi-Fi channel and speakers will connect back to it. Such kind of behavior can be caused by some other nearby Wi-Fi routers conflicting with your speakers and your Wi-Fi Router. -
I left my speaker ON and found it OFF.
Auto Standby has been activated.
The time to standby in the absence of audio is adjusted to about 30min. This is absolutely normal. Each speaker is equipped with an automatic standby mechanism, in case there is no audio coming from Optical or Analog inputs. The function of Auto Standby is not supported for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth inputs. -
I turned OFF my speaker and suddenly it turned ON.
Wake up from standby is activated.
This is absolutely normal. Each speaker is equipped with an automatic wake-up mechanism. When it senses audio coming from either Optical or Analog inputs, it wakes up and starts music reproduction.

I turned OFF my speaker in Bluetooth input and it turned on in Optical.
Wake up from standby is activated.
The Auto Wake-Up mechanism can also select the input. For example, If music comes into the analogue input, the speaker will wake-up and select Analogue as input source no matter what was the source before turning it off. The same applies for Optical input.

I want my speaker to remember what the volume was before turning it OFF.
This is what exactly happens.
The speaker remembers the volume setting before standby and wakes up with the same volume setting.

Is it OK if I leave the speaker always on.
Better avoid it.
It is not recommended to leave the speaker on if not in use.

My app cannot find any devices and prompts me to "Add device" even though I've done so in the past.
Just wait a bit.
The speaker needs about 30 seconds to turn ON in Wi-Fi mode. During these first 30 seconds the Orange LED blinks and Wi-Fi is not in fully operational status. Please wait a while until you listed to the booting sound. Now your speaker is ready for use.

I plan not to use the speaker for some big period of time. What shall I do?
Unplug it.
It is recommended that you disconnect the power supply from the wall outlet. Like this, you will save the minor standby current consumption.

How do I know that my speaker is OFF?
LED will tell you.
If the speaker is OFF, all the LED indicators are OFF. -
How do I change speaker's Wi-Fi password?
From within the App
If you select the settings (cog wheel) and then select Speaker Info, there is a Device Password option. If you select this option, a pop up will appear inside which you will need to select WPA PSK and then fill your password.

I have set a custom password for speaker's Wi-Fi and I don't remember it.
No problem at all.
From within the App you can reset it back to the default password (Wisound1234), by selecting back to factory defaults. -
If I place my Teevy on the wall the Left speaker has become Right. What can I do to avoid this?
This is normal.
Teevy series products are equipped with a sensor, understanding Horizontal or Vertical placement. If placed vertically, speakers signal will swap so that you always have the Right channel speaker on the Right. -
Do I need a tablet / Smartphone to play internet radio?
No, not at all.
You will need your tablet or Smartphone to configure only once the relevant radio presets. You will then access the presets by pressing the relevant buttons on the speaker's keys or remote control.

What is the maximum distance for proper wireless audio transmission?
Bluetooth is 10m, Wi-Fi is 30m.
For Bluetooth the maximum distance between transmitter (Smartphone/tablet) and speaker is 10 meters. For Wi-Fi the maximum distance between transmitter (Wi-Fi router/Smartphone/Tablet) and speaker is 30 meters. The maximum distance is heavily influenced by the various obstacles inside the house, as well as the interference from other wireless devices like 2.4GHz transmitters, DECT phones, 2.4GHz phones, etc... -
If I want to access the presets from within the App, what do I do?
Select Device Content
Simply, select the settings (cog wheel) of the speaker of interest. You will then need to select Device Content. From the presets list, chose which one you want to listen to.

Apart from Internet Radio presets, can I store other content to the 6 preset buttons?
Yes
Εxcept for Internet Radio station (Tune In), you can also store playlists to presets, provided that in the playlist there are online songs. The online songs are results coming from the SEARCH function. -
If I unplug the speaker from the power, will the presets be erased?
Νο
Presets are stored on an internal memory and cannot be erased with a power cut.

How do I manually erase the presets?
Select Factory Defaults
To erase all of the presets, you need to perform a back-to-factory-defaults operation, through the settings menu. -
I used to find a particular radio station in the lists of TuneIn but I cannot find it anymore. Why?
This is normal if radio station stopped broadcasting.
TuneIn is a dynamic database of radio stations that constantly updates the guide to add more and more content. If you cannot find the specific radio station anymore, this means that it most probably stopped broadcasting. Likewise, each time you visit TuneIn you will discover new radio stations.

When I try to make a group of more than one speaker then sound is delayed compared to the video.
Delay the video from TV settings
To avoid this problem, you can try setting the delay of video (if your TV supports this feature). When there is a group of speakers playing the same content, buffering is required to guarantee that all speakers have perfect synchronization. That's why you notice this delay.

Can I play Bluetooth to many speakers at once?
Yes you can.
First you pair one speaker with your Smartphone / tablet and then through the WiSound App you make a group with one ‘Master’ speaker (the one connected to your device via Bluetooth). Like this, all the speakers will play same song as the one coming via Bluetooth. -
Can I play line-in/optical to many speakers?
Yes you can.
Connect the analog source to line-in or the digital source to optical and then make a group with Master being the connected speaker. Like this, all the speakers will play the song coming from line-in / optical to master. -
What is the purpose of the USB port.

There are 2 functions for this USB port:
1. Charge your tablet/Smartphone.
2. Playback content stored in either USB Flash Drive or HDD -
Is there some limitation to the supported USB means?
There is no limitation to the USB port.
You can connect either USB HDD or flash driver, no matter if it is NTFS or FAT32 formatted. At the moment there is a limitation on the App supporting only 270 songs. This limitation will be resolved with a f/w upgrade soon.

How do I access the USB songs?
From within the App
Inside My Music you will find a USB selection. Once you press it, you are able to access the files of your USB. The USB selection appears only if there is a USB flash drive or HDD connected to the relevant USB port.
